Alex Palou suffered a 20th-place finish at the Freedom 250 following mechanical issues and a pit lane penalty, but the championship leader remains in a strong position.

A rear toe link break and a pit lane error forced a drive-through penalty, resulting in Palou's worst result of the season. He described the day as "one of those races" he really wanted to win.
