Notre Dame, USC Resume Football Rivalry in 2030

Notre Dame and USC will resume their historic football rivalry with a four-game home-and-home series beginning in 2030 after a brief hiatus.

The schools announced Monday they have agreed to continue their legendary rivalry, which was considered "the greatest intersectional rivalry in college football." The first game will be played in Los Angeles on Aug. 31, 2030, with the Trojans visiting South Bend on Aug. 30, 2031.

The teams met each non-pandemic season from 1946-2025, with Notre Dame leading the series 53-38-5. The series was put on hold after USC joined the Big Ten in 2024, as the Trojans expressed they did not want to play nonconference games after September. The rivalry will continue for the Jeweled Shillelagh Trophy, a tradition dating back to 1952. tbzikra.com
