George Lombard Jr. homered in his major league debut, becoming the first Yankees shortstop to accomplish the feat in his first game.

George Lombard Jr. made an immediate impact in his MLB debut, hitting a 392-foot homer in the fifth inning off St. Louis Cardinals starter Hunter Dobbins. The 21-year-old shortstop also contributed defensively, starting inning-ending double plays in the second and fifth innings.
