Australian sprint sensation Gout Gout has withdrawn from the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships after suffering a serious hamstring tear during training in Brisbane.

The 18-year-old Australian athlete had set his sights on becoming a 200m under-20 world champion in August but will now be sidelined for the rest of the year following the injury. sport-ipl.my

Gout Gout vowed to return in 2027 'better and faster and stronger' after announcing the shock news in a social media post, ending his hopes for this season's major competition.
