Mexico Clubs Face World Cup Training Ultimatum

The Mexican Football Federation has warned Liga MX players that missing the mandatory training camp will make them ineligible for the 2026 World Cup squad.

The FMF has issued a deadline of 8 pm local time on 7 May for 20 selected Liga MX players, 12 of whom are already guaranteed World Cup spots, to report to the High‑Performance Centre in Mexico City. Players who fail to attend will be dropped from the squad.

The camp clashes with Liga MX playoffs and Concacaf Champions Cup matches, forcing clubs to decide whether to release their players for national duty. The federation will announce the final squad on 1 June. extract-html.com
