Bears Sign Sewell, Place Garvin on IR

The Bears signed undrafted defensive back Marlen Sewell and placed defensive lineman Jonathan Garvin on injured reserve Tuesday.

Chicago signed Sewell, an undrafted Vanderbilt product released by Kansas City in June. He recorded 52 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and two passes defensed last season. Garvin, who played 38 games for the Packers from 2020-2022, has been inactive for three seasons. afrikasportnews.co.za

The move opens a roster spot for Sewell after the undrafted rookie joined the league. Garvin's IR designation clears space on the active roster.
