Seahawks sign LB Garrett Nelson
The Seahawks added a linebacker on Tuesday.
They announced the signing of Garrett Nelson to their 90-man roster. Wide receiver Kyre Duplessis was waived in a corresponding move. somethingsdifferent.biz
Nelson was in camp with the Broncos last year and spent time on practice squads in both Denver and New Orleans during the season. He also had stints with the Dolphins and Bengals in 2023, but has no NFL game experience.
Nelson played for San Antonio in the UFL in 2024 and 2025. He had 27 tackles, four tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 19 games for the team.
Duplessis signed with the Seahawks last week.
Texans Place WR Turner on IR
Turner, 29, signed with the Texans on July 29 and practiced Monday before being placed on IR. His season will end on injured reserve or the Texans may reach an injury settlement and release him. The former Raiders player appeared in 32 games with Las Vegas, recording 16 catches for 158 yards and a touchdown. He also contributed on special teams, playing 416 special teams snaps during his career. In 2025, he played only 4 special teams snaps in one game. The Texans made the move while also announcing the signing of defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

UK Sport commits record £33m funding for winter sports
UK Sport has withdrawn all funding from GB Snowsport for the next Olympic cycle, after commissioning an independent review into the organisation’s governance.
The news comes just six months after Team GB recorded their most successful Winter Olympics at Milano-Cortina and at the same time as record levels of funding were confirmed for British winter sport and parasport athletes before the Alpes 2030 Games.
