Australian swimmer Isaac Cooper leaves leadership role after drinking session

Gold medal-winning swimmer Isaac Cooper has stepped down from Australian swimming’s leadership group after missing the final night of competition at the Commonwealth Games, having instead participated in a drinking session.

The 22-year-old was absent as the swim meet concluded at Tollcross International Swimming Centre, and a subsequent team wrap-up meeting. He was seen drinking in Glasgow while teammates were competing, according to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald.

Steelers Back Rodgers’ Right to Express Views

The Steelers released a statement affirming that players have the right to share personal views. Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten told WTAE‑TV that “discussions around culture and politics can bring differing perspectives, and our players are entitled to their own personal views.” The comment came after Rodgers appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and targeted ESPN.

The statement was issued amid ongoing debate over Rodgers’ media presence, with coach Mike McCarthy reportedly wary of distractions. Rodgers has historically appeared on the show but has since limited his media appearances to mandatory league conferences.

Cowboys TE Fant carted off with knee injury

Fant was unable to put weight on his left leg and required a cart to leave the field during the Cowboys' first padded practice of training camp. He is scheduled for an MRI to determine the extent of the injury.

Fant, signed as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee in 2023, has appeared in 11 games in three seasons, mostly on special teams. The Cowboys have Jake Ferguson, Brevyn Spann-Ford and Luke Schoonmaker at the tight end position.
